The X-Pin technology demonstrator from PEM RWTH Aachen is setting new standards for electric motors. Behind it lies teamwork: The stator lamination stack was produced from material supplied by thyssenkrupp Steel, cut, stacked and bonded here at HAILTEC GmbH.
We manufactured the sheet metal stacks with precision on our specially built double-head laser cutting machine. It processes electrical steel sheets with thicknesses from 0,05 mm to 0,65 mm with an accuracy of ±5 µm – in this case, 0,2 mm Powercore® NGO electrical steel from Thyssenkrupp. Fully automated and operating 24/7, this machine allows us to meet the cost pressures of the market.
