For delicate aluminum: Our state-of-the-art laser technology
For precise laser cutting of highly reflective materials such as aluminum, we use QCW pulsed fiber lasers and Nd:YAG laser systems from DMG MORI and Trumpf. These laser sources introduce only a small amount of energy into the aluminum. Low heat means minimal deformation and enables extremely delicate cuts. Our Fine cutting laser systems and modern beam sources enable cuts with a Gap width of 0,03 mm or less. The tolerances are in the range of +/- 0,01 mm, depending on the sheet thickness.

FAQ - frequently asked questions about laser cutting aluminum
Which lasers are used for cutting aluminum?
For laser cutting of aluminum, we use QCW fiber lasers and disk lasers for precise and economical cutting. For micro-cut parts that require maximum precision and are between 0,02 mm and 0,5 mm, we use the Ultrashort pulse laser (USP) with the micro laser cutting process.
Which aluminum alloys are suitable for precision laser cutting?
Various aluminum alloys are suitable for precision laser cutting, depending on the specific requirements of your application. Some of the most commonly used aluminum alloys for laser cutting include:
- EN AW 5754: This aluminum alloy possesses excellent properties such as corrosion resistance, weldability, formability, and strength, making it widely used in a variety of applications. HEN AW 5754 is often used in the automotive industry for body parts, the construction industry for facade cladding, shipbuilding, and the food industry for containers and tanks.
- EN AW 6061: This alloy is characterized by a good combination of strength, corrosion resistance, and weldability. The sheet is well suited for laser cutting components in mechanical engineering, aerospace, and automotive manufacturing.
- EN AW 5052: This alloy is also corrosion-resistant and exhibits good formability. It is often used for thinner sheet metal and components that require precise laser cutting, such as in the electronics and packaging industries.
- EN AW 6063: This alloy is known for its high extrudability and is often used for profiles and structural components. The sheet is ideal for laser cutting aluminum profiles.
- EN AW 1050: This alloy is widely used in the production of thin sheet metal and precision parts, especially in applications where high precision and a smooth cut edge are required, such as in the electronics and automotive industries.
- EN AW 5005: EN AW 5005 is a high-quality aluminum alloy that is often used in the manufacture of facade cladding, signs, containers, and other construction projects where both an aesthetically pleasing surface and durability are required.
