What benefits does precision laser cutting at HAILTEC bring you?

Precision laser cutting: The right choice for your delicate components

HAILTEC has been an expert in precision laser cutting for micromachining since 2005, handling sheet thicknesses from 0,05 mm to 3,00 mm. For precise cuts, we rely on state-of-the-art pulsed single- and multimode fiber laser sources from DMG MORI and Trumpf . These laser systems, due to their advanced technology, deliver very little energy to the material/part. This minimal heat input results in minimal distortion and allows for intricate cuts of perfect quality. With our precision laser systems and advanced beam sources, we achieve consistently fine cuts with spot sizes of 30 µm and less. Depending on the sheet thickness, tolerances are within the range of +/- 0,01 mm. As a reliable contract manufacturer, we not only perform the cutting but also deliver your parts with a fine satin finish and are completely burr-free.

With mineral cast machine beds and absolute length measuring devices (glass scales), our precision laser systems are temperature-stable and, thanks to their linear direct drives, are partially replacing wire EDM sheet metal cutting. Combined with intelligent process control, where the laser power and nozzle distance to the sheet are continuously adjusted and monitored during processing in relation to the respective cutting feed rate, we achieve exceptional contour accuracy. Another advantage of precision laser cutting with HAILTEC: Our laser systems are not conventional flatbed lasers, but rather feature zero-point clamping systems that enable very short setup times . This is particularly important for handling pre-punched strips with press-fit zones or for capturing individual components.

Quality for your fineblanked parts

HAILTEC produces precise laser-cut parts of perfect quality with the tightest tolerances. By using the latest laser technologies and automation systems, as well as our many years of experience, we can offer our customers precision laser-cut parts of the highest quality. The reproducibility of this technology is unbeatable, reaching 5-10 times the accuracy of laser cutting: +/- 0,01 mm contour accuracy! "Laser cutting by HAILTEC" is ideal for industries such as medical technology and is also highly cost-effective.

Frequently asked questions about precision laser cutting

Can HAILTEC also perform robot-assisted precision laser cutting?

Robotic support enables us to be a reliable and cost-effective partner for you, even for large volumes. With mobile robot cells, we operate autonomous shifts and manufacture your large-volume orders even faster and more efficiently. Because accuracy is the benchmark in precision laser technology, the combination of temperature-stable mechanical engineering, intelligent real-time process monitoring, and automated assembly by robots ensures additional speed and throughput at HAILTEC.

What is the difference between laser cutting and precision laser cutting?

Precision laser cutting uses pulsed laser energy. This means high peak pulse power and a high power density are generated on the surface of the workpiece. The high power density melts and vaporizes the material. While "traditional" laser cutting in CW mode cuts extremely quickly, pulsed laser systems are suitable for delicate geometries and generate very little heat in the workpiece. Lower heat naturally also means lower feed rates, but with laser-cut components focused on quality, the focus is on accuracy. The achievable tolerances between laser cutting and precision laser cutting are in a ratio of 1:5 to 1:10.

Can precision laser cutting be used to cut delicate contours?

The pulsed laser beam heats the material only locally, keeping thermal stress on the workpiece low. The cutting gap is as narrow as the beam. Why is this important? It enables complex contours to be cut smoothly and without burrs. This eliminates the need for complex post-processing. After precision laser cutting, the workpieces are given a perfectly brushed surface through satin finishing.

Laser or water: Which cutting technology is ideal for you?

Together, we'll determine which technology will deliver the best results for you: precision laser cutting, micro waterjet cutting , or ultrashort pulse laser micro cutting . The decision depends heavily on the material and the desired outcome. Precision laser cutting is often recommended for thin sheets and 2D and 3D shapes, while micro waterjet cutting and ultrashort pulse lasers cut sensitive materials and complex geometries without thermal stress. Thanks to HAILTEC's exceptional range of technologies, you'll always benefit from the optimal and most cost-effective manufacturing process.
