What is the difference between remote laser cutting and traditional laser cutting?

Unlike other laser cutting processes such as flame cutting or fusion cutting (see FAQ on laser fine cutting), remote laser cutting does not use a nozzle, but rather a scanner. The laser beam is moved using a particularly dynamic galvanometer scanner. In combination with the ultrashort pulse laser, we achieve contour speeds of several meters per second.

When is laser remote cutting used?

Laser remote cutting, also known as sublimation cutting, is particularly suitable for complex geometries and contours. Burrs are minimal on the edges and the surface roughness is minimal.

Which materials are suitable for laser remote cutting?
